Meet The Curators
Janine - Owner
Janine Carter, a Broken Bow native, has dedicated her life to building community and nurturing creativity in her hometown. Inspired by her father, Bob Finch, the first Lake Manager for Broken Bow Lake, her childhood was filled with outdoor adventures that shaped her commitment to local culture.
At 15, Janine founded “Janine’s School of Dance,” expanding to multiple locations while earning her degree from East Central University. With 25 years of success in sales and advertising in Oklahoma City and Dallas-Fort Worth, she returned to Hochatown in 2007 to start Beavers Bend Adventures, now managing over 60 cabins with exemplary hospitality.
Her passion for creativity led to Gallery 259, a hub for local art, music, and inspiration, where visitors experience the vibrancy of Broken Bow alongside its natural beauty.
Savannah - Director/Curator
Savannah brings energy and vision to Gallery 259, working with local artists, musicians, and community members to foster creativity. As Janine’s daughter, she shares the family’s passion for art and local culture, curating exhibits and organizing events that connect visitors to McCurtain County’s artistic spirit.
Savannah bridges Gallery 259 and Beavers Bend Adventures, ensuring cabin guests enjoy the area’s cultural offerings. With fresh ideas and a modern approach, she leads the gallery’s mission to celebrate art, support creators, and enrich the visitor experience.
